Understanding What The Call Center Job Is About And How You Fit In Such An Environment:  Call center work is not like other employment where certain liberties are allowed.  If micromanagement and almost absurd control over your every move is not your cup of tea, a call center is not for you.  If you decide that being tied to a phone all day is a good career choice, then you must be able to explain how you fit into the mix.  Your interviewer will want to explain the job, but he/she is really more interested on how well you’ll do once you are hired.  You need to show that you can be focused on your work and unaffected by monotony. You must show that you can find it challenging and rewarding to help customers and contribute to the well being of the customer base as a whole.

Portraying A Great Attitude:  Here’s a wonderful call center job interview tip, be likeable!  As basic a concept as this may seem, having a great attitude is not enough.  You must be able to show your interviewer that behind the nervousness and uncertainly, is a solid employee with great potential.  Many people don’t interview well because they concentrate so much on what they are going to say that they forget to smile and be themselves.  Part of portraying a great attitude is natural, while the other can only come from a lot of practice.  Even if you have a bubbly personality you won’t do well in an interview if your answers are unsatisfactory.  To be ready for the interview you must practice your answers in front of a mirror so that you can see your mannerisms, facial expressions and gestures.  Nothing builds confidence like knowing you are prepared with tons of  pre-set responses to difficult questions combined with a self-assured smile.   

Looking professional:  A last call center job interview tip is to look your best.  Unfortunately, the people who interview you normally don’t know you.  Therefore, they must base their initial impressions on your appearance.  If a negative image is embedded in the mind of the interviewer, it will be difficult to gain lost ground.  Look as professional as possible so that you start with high marks and get a little break should some of your answers fall short.
