After months of renovation, the Air France lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) reopened to travelers last Friday with more space and new services.
The lounge, situated by Gate A of the airport’s international terminal, has been expanded to 565 square meters (6,080 square feet), with communal spaces and private alcoves. It now seats 117 guests across bench seats, comfortable chairs, high tables, and a large table d’hôte – places to relax, work, and eat.

The lounge has also been totally redesigned in collaboration with the SGK Brandimage, a global branding and design agency, and now “celebrates the French travel experience from the moment you arrive at the airport,” the airline said. That means decor matching the Tricolour—white, shades of blue, and pops of red—and furnishings from French designers, including Little Tulip chairs by Pierre Paulin, Ester bar stools by Patrick Jouin, and Softshell chairs by the Bouroullec brothers.

There’s also a self-service buffet and a menu that changes throughout the day, with hot and cold, savory and sweet dishes, including croque-monsieur, boeuf bourguignon, and other classics of the Parisian brasserie. Vegetarian options are available.

Air France is also committed to sustainability in its catering: it favors local and seasonal produce, strives to limit food waste, and recycles materials. Water fountains are available to discourage the consumption of single-use plastic.
The lounge is open to passengers flying in Air France’s La Premiere (First Class), Business cabins, and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers. The lounge entrance has eligibility kiosks so eligible travelers can gain access quickly.

La Premiere travelers also have a dedicated, private lounge area with its restaurant and direct access to the bar. Tucked behind a large glass facade and with plenty of natural light, it’s “ideal for relaxing out of sight,” the carrier says. Ultimate members of Air France’s Flying Blue loyalty program also have reserved space near the lounge entrance.
The lounge provides free Wi-Fi and many electrical and USB sockets for recharging. The Air France Play app offers lounge visitors a digital press offer so they can keep up with the news from their devices.

Showers are also available throughout the day, so you can recharge much as your electronics do.
The lounge is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. Air France will operate 12 weekly flights between SFO and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) this summer.
