As a customer, the last thing you want to hear when you call a customer service department with a problem is an aggressive sales pitch instead of a solution. Call center agents need to receive realistic upsell and cross-sell goals, and must be well trained to identify and capitalize sales opportunities. Customers who get their issues resolved, and are also shown a way in which the company can be of value to them will help you sell more by recommending your business.
